Choosing Focus & Health Over Convenience
Slate takes a firm, thoughtful stand for children’s well-being. Smartphones are banned, not only in school, but at home. Junk food is strongly discouraged. Why? Because focus is fragile. No matter how strong a school’s efforts are, unchecked screen exposure reduces them to nothing. Being among the best schools in Hyderabad, Slate chooses discipline, balance, and long-term health because meaningful learning needs attention, energy, and clarity. Why Parents Place Their Trust in Slate
Parents choose Slate because we are deliberate in our thinking and unwavering in our values.
We don’t follow passing trends. We focus on strong foundations.
We don’t compromise on discipline. We preserve the joy of childhood.
We don’t teach in isolation. We nurture every part of the child.
It is this consistency in thought and action that makes Slate a school parents can trust with what matters most.

I gave a lot of thought before deciding to change Geethika’s school for Grade 8. Although we had enquired about several schools near Puttur, we came to know about Slate School when we visited for admission. The lush greenery, fresh environment, and positive atmosphere that impressed us.
Despite the long distance, we admitted Geethika to Grade 8 at Slate School, Tirupati. Many people questioned our decision, asking why we would choose a school so far away and whether the daily travel would make our child tired. However, we believed it was worth giving SLATE a chance.
After one year, I can confidently say that choosing SLATE was the right decision. Despite the distance, I am extremely happy and satisfied. The biggest change I noticed is that Geethika now understands concepts so well that she explains them to us at home, something that never happened earlier. She has developed the habit of self-learning and genuinely enjoys learning.
What truly sets SLATE apart is its focus on life skills. Academics can be taught anywhere, but it is the life skills that have made the real difference in our daughter’s overall development. We can clearly see positive changes in her confidence, communication, discipline, and personality.
Thank you, SLATE – The School, for nurturing our child and helping her grow into a confident and independent learner.
My child has been studying at Slate The School, Tirupati since LKG.
When he joined, he was very reluctant to eat fruits, vegetables, and even drink water. He would only drink juices when we went out and was very fussy about food. But after joining SLATE, I have seen a remarkable change. Today he eats all kinds of healthy food happily and I truly appreciate the school for inculcating such good habits.
Another big change is in his behavior. Earlier he would insist on buying toys and everything he saw outside. Now he understands and listens to us. I can confidently say that my child is becoming financially aware and disciplined.
Academically too, he has grown a lot. He had a fear of English earlier, but now he reads from the textbook and puts in effort. He is very good at Math because SLATE focuses on understanding concepts rather than rote learning. Whenever a topic is taught, he first understands the logic and even asks questions if he has doubts.
I am very grateful to SLATE for shaping not just his academics, but his overall personality and habits.

Choosing a school is never an easy decision, especially when you want the absolute best environment for our children. For our family, that search led us to SLATE – The School, Tirupati, where our children—Chancy (Grade 5) and Manaswini (Grade 8)—have been studying since their primary years.
- Good Behavior: Academics can be taught anywhere, but it is the combination of strong academics and good behavior that truly grabbed our attention.
Positive Behavioral Changes: We noticed many positive changes in our children, supported by an excellent response from teachers whenever a problem needs solving.
Walking the Talk: Unlike many schools that simply tell students not to eat junk food, at SLATE they actively follow whatever they teach.
Safety, Care, and Life Skills: The school provides a safe and caring environment compared to any other, where our children genuinely enjoy learning and build strong life skills.
I was really worried about my younger child. He was a screen addict, and in his previous nursery school he wasn’t happy to go. I didn’t feel the environment or language used was right for him.
But since joining SLATE, he runs to school with excitement every morning!
I’ve also seen a wonderful transformation in my elder child who has been a Slater for 2 years now.
When I was looking for schools, there was so much traffic and pollution everywhere. But the moment I visited SLATE, I felt the calm, green, pollution-free environment.
Today I’m so sure my decision was right. My kids Devansh Abhay Ram & Hardvik Bhargav Ram have stopped using mobiles and eating junk food. Now whenever they’re offered something, they ask ‘Is this healthy?’
Thank you SLATE for this positive change
My child Jitesha is in UKG and studying in SLATE since 2 years.
Initially I was a little apprehensive whether she will adjust to the environment and open up, because she was not speaking to outsiders.
But now I have noticed a good change in her.
If someone asks her something she is replying with confidence. Her confidence skills have increased a lot.
Not only this, her public communication skills are also good and she is good at academics.
The mesmerizing thing is her handwriting. I feel shocked whenever I see her handwriting – the letter formation, gaps between the words, everything.
At times I feel shocked, a UKG student can write this much beautifully and neatly.
I am sure that I have chosen a good school for my child.
I am Amrutha parent of Krithik krishna of class 5 Achievers and Manvik Krishna of class 3 Achievers Studying in SLATE the School Tirupati. I am very happy to be a part of Slate community, I heartfully appreciate the school approach towards learning, especially the importance given to children’s over all development creativity, confidence and practical learning.
As a parent what I observed is my children have become more Independent and responsible in all aspects.
As a parent which I really liked about slate is the STS Sampoornatha, Trayoda “ C” Sangam it is a wonderful weapon to the children for their future life.
I have been observed many schools which only focus on education and rote learning and specially on ranks and marks.
In previous school, my children had careless attitude, but now there is a tremendous change after joining in SLATE. They are completely focused and well behaved and enjoying their home task and learning journey.
SLATE completely focuses on the child as a whole person not just on exam scores.
Thank you so much Amarnath sir for showing a bright path to my children.
My son’s Devansh-3A,Lohithaksh-UKG are studying at SLATE The School Tirupati and I am very happy with the values they have learned and also still learning. The school teaches children to avoid junk food, do not use mobile phone and not spend too much time watching television they also encourage healthy eating habits and inspired children to guide others in making good choices for example my children even advise to my sister who owns a provisions Store, to sell more fruits and vegetables instead of junk food(chips, kurkure, cool drinks, etc…) I truly appreciate the school for a shaping my children into healthy, responsible and caring individuals.
At Slate the School, children are cared for right from the van ride itself. The campus has CCTV coverage, regular parent feedback, and teachers who stay in touch about progress. They focus not just on studies but also on behaviour, and the best part — no junk food and no mobile. Highly recommend Slate the School for a safe, caring, and well-rounded environment. “I am Sameera Sultana, a mother of four. I have been a part of the Slate family since 2005. My three eldest children are now successful in their lives, and I am always grateful for the strong foundation built by Slate that enhanced their potential. Now, my daughter, Zabaria Anjum, is in Class 10. I feel sad knowing I won’t be a part of the Slate family much longer. Amarnath Sir has always strived for the better future of the children at Slate. I am a very proud parent, and I am proud to say my children are Slaters.”
Sameera Sultana
I am Ananya s mother and would like to truly appreciate the school’s vision.
*No rote learning is an excellent step. It helps children understand concepts instead of just memorizing. My child Ananya is now trying to understand the ‘why behind every topic.
Following No Homework Policy instead encouraging the child to do Real Homework is very supportive for child’s mental health. It gives us quality family time in the evening and child comes to school fresh next day.
Eating Healthy Food is a Great initiative. It is inculcating good food habits. Children are learning to avoid junk food.
No Smart Phone is strongly supporting the children to improve the concentration in studies, reduce distraction and protect eyes.
Counselling is very much needed in today s time. Regular counselling is helping children to handle stress, emotions and peer pressure. Thanks for including it.
Using Al is a very forward-thinking step. Teaching children to use Al in the right way for learning, creativity and projects will prepare them for the future.
Overall, I am very happy with the school’s balanced approach between values and modern education. Thank you for all your efforts.
I would also like to express my sincere appreciation for introducing STS books in the curriculum. It is truly an amazing step for the betterment and holistic growth of our children.

Shifting my daughter to SLATE has been one of the best decisions we’ve made.
From the very beginning, we have noticed the genuine care and attention given to every child—not only in academics but also in their overall growth, confidence, discipline, eating habits and personality development.
It is reassuring to see that the school focuses on nurturing each child in every aspect, helping them become better individuals.
As parents, it gives us immense satisfaction to know that our daughter is in such a positive, caring, and encouraging environment.

FAQ's
1. What measures do you take to improve both the child’s academics and behaviour?
At SLATE, we focus on nurturing the child as a whole. We have a strong mentor system in place – each mentor is responsible for Sampoornatha (life skills) classes and closely supports a small group of students. For every five sections, there is one dedicated mentor who regularly observes and guides each child’s academic progress, emotional growth, and behaviour.
These observations, along with inputs from teachers and parents, are recorded every month on our Panorama Sheets, which are displayed in the classroom. This ensures transparency, consistent tracking, and a shared understanding of the child’s development. It also helps us intervene early, celebrate progress, and support children in making thoughtful and responsible choices.
This balanced and attentive approach is one of the reasons SLATE is regarded among the best schools in Hyderabad, where academic excellence goes hand-in-hand with character building.
2. What type of activities do you conduct to focus on communication and writing skills?
At SLATE, we ensure that every child gets regular and confident speaking practice. During assemblies, students are encouraged to speak on topics that are often given on the spot, and children are chosen at random, even those in Pre-Primary. This builds confidence, fluency, and presence.
In our language classes, the focus is on natural language acquisition rather than rote learning. To strengthen writing, we introduce a daily diary from Class 2 onwards, where students reflect on their day and share their thoughts with their English teacher.
Additionally, we conduct LSRW (Listening, Speaking, Reading, Writing) activities in our library, along with creative platforms like Creative Chronicles, where students can express themselves through prose, poetry, painting, and poster-making.
This consistent nurturing of expression is one of the reasons SLATE stands among the best schools in Hyderabad, where communication is treated as a life skill, not just a subject.
3. How will you ensure that, with your philosophy and methodology, our child will have a good future?
At SLATE, we believe that the foundation for a strong future begins with healthy habits and the right environment. Ours is the only school where every student follows a junk-food-free and mobile-free lifestyle, and this alone has a powerful impact on their focus, emotional balance, and overall well-being.
Alongside this, our Sampoornatha programme, enriched by the Trayoda C principles, helps students build life skills such as discipline, empathy, resilience, decision-making, and mindful living. These are qualities that stay with them well beyond school.
By nurturing both the mind and the character, we ensure that students are not only academically prepared but also grounded, confident, and capable of leading meaningful and successful lives.
4. Why is there no written homework?
We follow the Read – Revise – Practise approach, which helps children understand lessons deeply rather than just memorise them. Students pre-read upcoming topics, reinforce what they’ve learnt, and then practise through focused exercises. This builds confidence, clarity, and steady academic progress.
We also avoid device-based homework because screens often lead to distraction and passive learning. Instead, children are encouraged to read, think, write, and reflect, keeping learning active, healthy, and meaningful beyond the classroom.
5. How will you ensure that our child follows RRP (Real Homework) regularly?
At SLATE, consistency is built into every child’s learning routine. Our teachers and mentors monitor the Read – Revise – Practise (RRP) cycle closely, providing guidance and feedback at each stage. Daily reflections, class discussions, and exercises ensure that children stay engaged with their learning. By making RRP meaningful, interactive, and integrated into classroom activities, we encourage students to take ownership of their work, developing habits of responsibility, discipline, and self-motivation.
6. Does your campus have a fully functional CCTV system in classrooms and common areas?
Yes. All our campuses are equipped with CCTV surveillance in classrooms as well as common areas. This ensures a safe, transparent, and closely monitored environment where children can learn and grow with confidence.
7. Will you ensure that children speak only in English at school?
Yes. We actively encourage and support students to communicate in English throughout the school day. Our teachers, mentors, and class activities all help create an environment where English becomes a natural and comfortable medium of expression, rather than something forced.
8. How will you identify if our child is addicted to mobile phones or TV?
Our mentors stay in close touch with parents to understand a child’s screen habits at home. In the higher classes, they also take discreet feedback from peers to get a clearer sense of behaviour. Alongside this, mentors carefully observe the child’s focus, engagement, and social interactions in school.
This helps us identify signs of screen dependency early and guide the child towards healthier routines. Such attentive monitoring and personal care are part of why SLATE is recognised among the best schools in Hyderabad for balanced, mindful growth.
