My work focuses on the interplay of language, population demographics and quantitative methods with decision-making in education policies. I study how language biomarkers ameliorate communication. Linguistics matters because it provides the research ecosystem with the lens  to transmit linguistic knowledge to the AI era. studies how human language works. The LSA Comment on Proposal to Rescind Regulations on Title VI and Fulbright-Hays 

Reflecting our ongoing work to bring the empirical findings of linguistics to policy makers, the LSA submitted a comment on a Department of Education Notice of Proposed Rulemaking that would rescind all regulations governing the Title VI and Fulbright-Hays programs. As explained in our comment, the proposed change would reduce the nation's ability to respond to emerging needs, not bolster it.
